Chairman of the Board

MR. PETER MBAH

A lawyer and financial analyst, Mr. Mbah attended the University of East London in the United Kingdom from where he bagged a Bachelor of Laws (LLB Honours) Second Class Upper. Thereafter he attended the Nigerian Law School and was subsequently called to the Nigerian Bar. In 2004 he was awarded the degree of Master of Laws (LL.M) in Maritime Law by the Lagos State University.

Mr. Mbah had been the managing director and chief executive officer of several successful companies. He founded Peter Mbah Investments Limited in 1992, a company involved in provision of services in the oil & gas sector and also sole representative of an international oil corporation based in Fresno, California USA; Gilpel Industries Limited, a major importer of general goods with annual turnover in excess of USD300 million. He was also on the board of three other companies.

Mr. Mbah has served at various times as Commissioner for Finance and Chief of Staff to Enugu State Government where he garnered a wealth of firsthand experience in the area of public financial management and project finance among others.

A highly skilled negotiator, he has received several honorary awards from Rotary International District 9140, the Certified Institute of Public Administration and Management and Newswatch Magazine as one of the ten most outstanding Commissioners in Nigeria in 2005.

PROF. CHIJIOKE CHRIS OHURUOGU

He is a Proactive, Pragmatic, Pacesetter, Visioner, team player, somehow restless, multitasking, self improving, eager to learn from others. He will like to see a world free of injustice and environmental hazards. Contributing to the development of the next generation in sound spirit, soul and body. He has been a Lawyer and Law Professor for more than 30 years, with specialist training in Forced Migration Law (AU in Cairo), Refugees Law (Sanremo,Italy), International Human Rights Law(Strasbourg,France), International Humanitarian Law (Geneva and Salzburg Law School),International Criminal Law (Salzburg Law School), International Law (Castellon,Xiamen Academy of International Law and Univ.of Pretoria GGP),etc. He has worked in Juba as Consultant to MOLACD.

Interests are in Teaching, Consultancy, Clinical legal education and curriculum development.
Also interested in Rule of Law,Development,Human Rights,Democratization and Law Reform.

Executive Director

CHIKA MBAH

With over 15 years experience in different areas of development work, Chika is a trainer in Capacity building and entrepreneurial development. Her passion is in Peacebuilding and Conflict resolution, Project development, Livelihood, Gender and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning processes. She also has has extensive experience in Needs Assessment and Development Communication. She has variously consulted for the NGO, CSO, Private and Public sectors in Needs Assessment and Capacity building, especially in Livelihood, Governance, Education and Youth/Women Entrepreneurship space. Chika has a Masters degree in Development Studies and is a UN certified English-Igbo translator. She has handled professional translation jobs for UN, VSO, and other projects.

She developed a very successful Easy-Teach model for Adult Literacy programmes. She has variously currently consulted for the Post Primary Schools Management Board,Enugu, basic Education Board, VSO, TechnoServe Enugu.

She has done researches in Peace-building and Conflict Management, Macro-economics, Entrepreneurship, Poverty Coping Strategies, Resource Management, etc.
Skilled in report writing, Chika is a strong communicator. A great team player with an ability to develop projects within programme context.

Peter Mbah Foundation is a not for profit and non political organization with a major goal to improve the standard of living in rural communities through the provision of services and infrastructure/facilities. These services and facilities include those related to education, health, including maternal and child care, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), financial empowerment and entrepreneurship as well as support for vulnerable persons.
